IT Cloud Services

Marketing have in our mind confused the market by labelling everything as Cloud in order to get you to upgrade. We see so many businesses who say they have to be in the cloud, but when we ask why the answer is something else. So in this page we intend to breakdown from the marketing use of the word to the delivery of a service, to you the customer.

To use cloud working means being able to work anywhere, subject to some security restrictions.

Some applications such as email are a no brainer, you cannot run a secure email service cheaper than Office 365 yourself. So all our customers have their email in the cloud.

Some applications such as fileshares can be done on site with a NAS or server, others can be done in the cloud. If all your staff are in one location and have a large amount of files, then an in-house solution may be better. Adhoc access can be granted via VPN.

Some applications you use in your day to day working maybe old, but they do the job well. Moving a whole server to the cloud is possible, but expensive and some companies who moved to the cloud are coming back. We have been successful at getting remote access to pretty much every application we have seen, one was 10+ years old, so in effect we moved an old application to the cloud.

There are a wealth of great cloud applications that are very good and productive for your business, and if this is the case, use them.

What we do with our customers is understand the business and the employees needs and then propose a solution that works for them. Technology isn’t everything, people interact with the technology, so it has to work.

We have experience in Office 365, Azure and Amazon, Zoho to name a few as well as tools to make an old application work remotely. We also understand what you need to have a backup of your data where possible. Some of these cloud applications cannot be backed up, so you need to verify the risk of the application suddenly disappearing if the company goes under.

We know the benefits of cloud and onsite so let’s have a conversation about your needs and then define what is going cloud and what isn’t.
